First and foremost, thank you for the extremely overwhelming positive response from the music community and interest in this songwriting contest. This show of interest has been the most overwhelming show of love and support I have ever experienced as a professional filmmaker. I apologize profusely for being unable to answer all your individual emails. I will eventually get through them all. The Misny Movie is a work of love from volunteers in all aspects of the Cleveland community and only those with hard costs are being reimbursed. Any proceeds this film earns from local showings will be donated to the city mission. https://thecitymission.org/ This film is a charitable cultural event meant to strengthen the city of Cleveland’s artistic influence on the world stage and give everyone a chance to get their voice heard. This is not a money-making venture. Yes, we are making a movie about Tim Misny for sure, but let it be understood he is just the focal point for all Clevelanders to tell their own story in their own artistic form.

We are looking for new content, specifically for this project. This film is a mockumentary and the funnier the songs are the better lol. This contest is not about the prize money so much as it is just a chance to have fun as it is not payment for a product, it’s simply an award for being the best of the best. This is going to be a comically epic saga and there will be a scene in the movie for any type of music so LET'S CREATE.
We are looking for rock, rap, romantic ballads, country, parody, metal, punk or whatever your form of expression is, just follow the guidelines set forth and let’s make 2025 Cleveland’s year to show the world who we are as the ragtag collective of vibrant culture that embodies us all.

We are looking for local actors for The Misny Movie, a mockumentary about the life and times of Tim Misny. This is an independent production seeking independent actors. Right now we are looking for a woman between the ages of 60 and 70 to play the role of a grandmother. Secondly, we need to cast two young men to play young Timmy. One in the eight-year old range and the other in the fourteen-year old range. Additionally, we need to cast for Tim's girlfriend in two age categories between 25 and 35 and 35 to 45. To audition, please submit your headshot, resume, and a short video between 30 and 60 seconds to moe.taylor.director@braindaggerfilms.com. Qualifying candidates will receive callbacks with scheduled auditions on Saturday, March 8th. Location TBA.
